I Call Him Lord
There are some names that I am hearing over and over again on the news. I wish I never had to hear some of those names again. But there is a name that I do love to hear. Some people use this name as a cuss word, I use the name reverently. I can say like the bride in the Song of Songs 5:16 NKJV —
His mouth is most sweet,
Yes, he is altogether lovely.
This is my beloved,
And this is my friend,
O daughters of Jerusalem!
The Name means Savior
Matthew 1:21 NKJV — “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”
The Name was Hated by Religious People
Matthew 27:1 NKJV — When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people plotted against Jesus to put Him to death.
The Question we All Must Answer
Matthew 27:22 NKJV — Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?”
The Authority and Mercy of Jesus
Luke 23:43 NKJV — And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
Have YOU Met Him?
Acts 9:5 NKJV — And he (Paul) said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
The Promise
Philippians 2:9-11 NKJV — Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
The Occupation of the Believer
Hebrews 2:9 NKJV — But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.
Jesus is Real
Revelation 22:16 NKJV — “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”
